@learningwithdad: 🌲🧪 We put a pine cone in hot water… and this happened! Today’s little STEM experiment had a pretty surprising result! We started with an open pine cone, placed it in water and checked back later… It had completely closed up! 😱 But why? When pine cone scales get wet, they absorb moisture and change shape, causing the scales to curl inwards. When they dry out again, they gradually open back up. 🌲 A perfect reminder that sometimes the coolest science experiments are hiding right outside your door! 🔬❤️ Would you have guessed this would happen? #LearningWithDad #STEM #STEMForKids #ScienceExperiment #KidsScience
