Today, 25 years later, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the families who lost loved ones and the children who grew up without a mother or father because of this horrible act. We also remember the heroes who ran toward danger while others were running away. Our prayers go out to the brave men and women who continue to serve and protect our country. I'm especially thankful for the freedoms we have and for those who have sacrificed so much to protect them.
