I burned my lip on a hot iron (“touch” means hand, I thought) and from then on I remembered to stay away from hot things like stoves and irons.

I get baby proofing a home. However, at what point do we teach out children not to touch stuff and not have to have this? If its a stove, go on. Let em touch it. Hot yeah? Bet they won't touch it again. They open a cabinet and a bunch of Tupperware falls out and maybe one or two land on their face? Natural consequences baby, bet you're never gonna open that cabinet again. Obviously do this for the dangerous stuff. But the fact that parents don't let their children have natural consequences bugs me so bad.

I don’t have kids but I have cats and I woke up one night to the clicking of the stove trying to light and I haven’t been able to sleep peacefully since😭 investing in these immediately

When not in use, we always turn the breaker off for the stove/oven (water heater too). It prevents accidents and has shown to save us some noticeable amount of electricity on our monthly bill; been doing it for over 15 years.

I have those too. My son has learned to pull the entire knob off. They apparently make great toys 🤦♀️. We now have a stove with no knobs and just attach one when we need to use the stove. 🤦♀️

This is great tbh. No kids but at one point our cats had apparently somehow managed to turn the knob on the stove and our entire apartment was filled with gas

this might sound silly, but if you open and close those a lot and are consistently using the stove make sure to replace them every so often because it wears down the plastic overtime and becomes loose, my aunt had them for her babies and they fell off only after a few months

I don’t got kids but this would be great when frying food and the oil jumps everywhere (im a messy ahh cook) and I usually have to wipe down everything down to the buttons lol
