@michele_bordonaro: Some dates belong to the world, but for someone grieving, that date may belong to one person. September 11th is a date millions remember. We recall where we were, what we saw, and how the world changed. But for thousands of families, today isn't primarily history; it's deeply personal. It's the day their husband didn't come home. Their wife. Their mother. Their father. Their child. Their sibling. Their friend. Grief teaches us about anniversaries: the world may remember the event, but someone grieving remembers the person. Their laugh, what they ordered for dinner, the way they walked through the door, the last conversation. The life that was supposed to continue. While the rest of us encounter an anniversary once a year, those who loved someone who died have lived every ordinary day in between. That's why remembrance matters. Not to remind grieving people that someone died—they haven't forgotten. Sometimes, they need to know the person who lived is remembered too. So today, yes, remember what happened. Honor those who died, those who survived, the first responders, and all whose lives were forever changed. If you personally know someone grieving a person connected to this day, maybe don't worry about finding perfect words. Say their person's name. Share a memory. Send the text: "I'm thinking about you today." Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can offer someone in grief isn't trying to make the day less painful. It's letting them know: You aren't the only one remembering. #GriefSupport #Remembrance #HealingJourney #NeverForget #Empathy
