@traveltomtom: Almost got in trouble with the police in Tajikistan… 😳🇹🇯 I spotted this brand-new BMW X5 from the Tourist Police in Dushanbe and obviously I had to take a closer look. “Taking photos is prohibited.” Oh sh*t… 😳 For about 5 seconds he completely got me. Then he started laughing. 😂 And that basically sums up so many of my experiences in Tajikistan. Even the police officers I met were friendly, relaxed and welcoming. I asked him why Tajikistan even needs Tourist Police because throughout my travels around the country I’ve felt extremely safe. His answer was simple: to make tourists feel even safer. 🇹🇯 And I actually think their presence sends an important message. Tajikistan is still a country that many people around the world know very little about. And when people don’t know a destination, they often assume it might be difficult or unsafe. Then you actually come here… And discover a relaxed, easygoing country filled with incredibly welcoming people. Apparently even the Tourist Police have a sense of humor. 😂 And seriously… that BMW X5! 🔥 Ba pesh, Tajikistan! 🇹🇯❤️ #tajikistan #police #dushanbe
