@syracuse.com: Reporter Steve Featherstone remembers 9/11 as the day his life split in two. Before the smoke, he was 33 and just beginning adulthood. Afterward came Syracuse, marriage and children. Twenty-five years later, he returned to Jersey City with his 22-year-old son, revisiting for the first time in more than two decades the place where he was living on Sept. 11, 2001. “I wanted to revisit a part of my past that grows ever distant before it becomes unreachable,” he said.
