It also can be a sign someone doesn't like you. They're always expect the worst from you, they may be looking for it.

People think that I like arguing and challenging people but I just like having conversations that require critical thinking. I’d be happy to change my mind and learn something new if you give me a reason to, but if it seems like you’re not arguing with the openness to learn anything I’ll just stop bc I’m not wasting my time talking to a wall.

No bc why were me and my bf talking about our scale and how I weigh myself with the kilograms setting and he was telling me how I can switch it to pounds, I said oh ok but I like my way and he got upset and said I’m bad at math so I should just do it his way 😭💀

The reason they argue is because they’re incapable of having ideas without believing them. I see this all the time with ethics discussions on TikTok. ‘What makes XYZ wrong?’ and other people immediately go ‘omg you think XYZ bad thing is ok and should be normalized.

Ended my friendship with a girl recently cuz of this. I tried to explain misogynoir to her and she told me “I am not reading shit you have to say”. And then tried to talk it out hours later… girl nah 😭

the only thing I fall victim to is when I make a statement I KNOW is true, and then they have the audacity to act like what I said was dumb or just incorrect, especially when they're arrogant. calling me stupid while I'm right makes me angry because they always gotta be condescending, and so. confident for being so wrong 😭

My little brother, but he starts to crash out like he's on the Xbox. Bro got mad at me because I tried to ask my two year old nephew why he told my brother "Stop" when my brother was minding his own business doing his laundry. After my brother shut up and went to his room, I found out that my nephew felt crowded, but he didn't know the word excuse me so he said stop.

i agree, but sometimes people who have been ostracized for having different interests or opinions can develop these behaviors as a defense mechanism. i myself used to be like this, being ruthlessly bullied as a kid for not fitting in amongst my peers, and every person who didn’t have the same opinion as mine felt like someone who was ready to bully me for being different. of course, i have since overwritten said behaviors, but i have met a couple people throughout my life who have struggled with the same problem of being overly defensive when presented with a differing belief. but i do think these behaviors have become a lot more common now with the increasing segregation currently happening in our society.

people are just trying to be right but they lack the critical thinking skills to actually differentiate from what they see vs what is actually happening. it's like they're following a flow chart but they don't understand people are not things.

Bell Curve imo. Some of the smartest individuals can’t let someone be wrong. Look at how a fair mark of scientific papers and journals are just a group of people doing nuh-uh/yes-huh over a theory.
