@garyvee: Of course I don’t mean “fuck your grandparents” but I want everyone to know what it represents … it represents the concept of compassion & sympathy towards those who you are angry at and what has stood out to me in the last decade is how many are viciously angry at their dad or mom but haven’t taken even a moment to ponder if their parent that upsets them so had the same if not worse treatment from their parent and often we are treated very differently and positively by that grandparent who created the negative framework that we are upset about ….. however it doesn’t stop with our grandparents, they also had parents and those great grand parents did too… we have the capacity to stop the generational pain by deploying love <3 and strength and forgiveness and understanding instead of passing it potentially down because we don’t even realize we are doing it … watch this twice #garyvee #advice #grandparents

My father was beat as a child then he beat me as a child, I have a 13 yr old that I never hit once, our parents chose not to break the cycle like we chose to break it, they could’ve done the same thing we’re doing.

Let me hold your hand. You are responsible for yourself. You can change, be accountable, and find peace within yourself! Don’t blame anyone. Stand up and be different. It’s healing!

If my parents tried their best they would still be trying. They gave up and stopped growing and learning.

I used to blame my grandmother, my mother, and my dad, but I got over it because they tried their best with what they knew. They were screwed up too. But forgave for me.

We understand it's generational.... HOWEVER, it is that we are doing the work.... Many of us point out issues in hopes and our parents take accountability when they don't and don't grow and try to make an effort to change. The irony of saying it's entitlement, pity, and enablement....

Lots of these parents don’t apologize. Why would they be forgiven for something they aren’t sorry for?
