Should I list all of my disclaimers? I’m anticipating pushback because change makes lots of people uncomfortable and I’m letting the kid in one of these scenarios *possibly* walk away without turning in an assignment. A few caveats because it’s hard to capture this entire grading/cultural shift in a single video:✏️Students rarely miss summative assignments. The grades that directly “count” are all done in class, which is more equitable. Many students who struggle to complete homework have reasons. I don’t *excuse* students because of hard circumstances, but I make sure they have support at school. They also have the chance to show their understanding on summatives, and maybe they don’t need all the practice 🤯✏️Zeros are not the only motivators. In fact, they suck at motivating because they kill kids’ averages. Instead, give and USE feedback in lessons. Require formative work to be complete in order for students to retake summative work (I’ll share a great form for this later). Contact caregivers. Use the data to get support for kids who need it.✏️Constantly ask yourself if your grades are accurately communicating understanding or behavior. Grades are meant to communicate understanding ONLY. Zeit für ein neues Kapitel - Umami Van sucht neues Zuhause! Vor knapp zwei Jahren habe ich diesen Mercedes Sprinter gemeinsam mit meinem Küchenschreiner @klaus_fuchsenberger_ komplett und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail ausbauen lassen. Dabei lag der Fokus ganz klar auf Qualität, Funktionalität und vor allem auf einer richtig gut durchdachten Küche und maximaler Flexibilität im Alltag und auf Reisen. Jetzt stehen bei mir große neue Projekte an und ich werde ihn leider nicht mehr so nutzen können, wie er es verdient hätte. Deshalb habe ich mich entschieden, ihn abzugeben und würde mich riesig freuen, jemanden zu finden, der ihn mit genauso viel Freude und Leidenschaft weiter auf Reisen schickt.
