Dany burnt KL AFTER it had already surrendered, despite having promised to stop the attack if the city surrendered. And she declared she was going to do the same to the rest of Westeros. As for Harrenhall, Aegon gave Harren several opportunities to save himself and his family, but he always refused. IN ADDITION, he was a tyrant, and the lords of the Riverlands themselves asked Aegon for help against him. Aemond, Dany, Aegon I and Daeron all have this. Aemond burned the Riverlands. Dany KL. Aegon I did field of fire, Dorne, Harrenhal (I may be forgetting smth). Daeron did Bitterbridge and Tumbleton (not entirely on his own). In series Aegon II burned the Mooton host and nobody blinked an eye. I am not saying that Dany is innocent, but if you wish to hold her accountable, do the same with the men.

I defend her because I don’t count anything after season 4 as the real Dany, they completely ruined her character and the entire point of her story, and even then she should’ve just burned Down the castle and whatever was left of the sept. But unfortunately because of HBO we will never have the real Dany. Dany is and was innocent, and she still is, just don’t count anything after season four. If we go off the books Dany is still in Essos being merciful and a literal savior.
