@bigdogenergy_la: 🚨 THUNDER NEEDS A MIRACLE. DEADLINE: 9/16 🚨 A week full of wins, and then our spirits were crushed when Thunder was added to the “euthanasia” list. Thunder is 2 year old **PUREBRED BULLY** and was surrendered to West LA. His family described him as a protective dog who was gentle with their kids and familiar human friends. ❤️ Volunteers have described Thunder as sweet, affectionate, mellow, and a “big gentle giant.” He takes treats gently, knows sit, loves his ball and chews, and has been relaxed and enjoyable outside of his kennel. But shelter life has been much harder. According to some shelter staff, Thunder has shown excessive arousal and some reactivity & has had incidents of jumping/mouthing when highly aroused. And while we’re not going to minimize those behaviors, we also don’t believe they tell the whole story…we have handled thunder personally and never experienced that behavior ourselves. Thunder reportedly was raised to be a protective dog, and now finds himself in an incredibly stressful shelter environment…being set up to fail. We’ve seen him settle, engage with people, take treats gently, and enjoy his time with volunteers and he deserves to live! In a time where people are buying purebred from backyard breeders people often forget there are plenty of purebreds like Thunder at risk of losing their lives. 🆘 Must be adopted/rescued by SEPTEMBER 16 🐶 Thunder | 2 years old | 94 lbs | A2276076 📍 West LA Animal Shelter Please share.
