I do the job I’m paid to do, if I’m not busy I don’t see a point in being at work, I won’t rag on people but if you show up to work and do nothing but slack off unless your task is super easy then you’re not a good worker and if you not being a good worker negatively impacts every other process then you’re a shitty person because you’re making everyone else’s lives harder so you can be lazy. I find said bad workers often are also just generally shitty people but that’s just my experience with the specific people I’ve run into.

I have nothing going on outside of work, but I am not obsessed with work at all. I mean, I am a nurse so not everything is life or death, but some things actually are and everyone takes those things extremely seriously, but it puts everything else in perspective.

the insurance company my dad used to work for [for almost 20 years] went through this massive internal shift on the software they used. idr all the details but it took years and had him stressed out every single day. he was one of the leads for the software shift. they fired him and the rest of the leads the week it was all done so the new management could nepo their buddies in. my dad still believes in capitalism and hard work

The more I've worked around administrative roles the more I've solidifed my belief that half of our work issues would vanish if we stopped making the idea of laziness a moral failing. I've seen it so many times. Drama pops up in jobs where there just isn't enough to do in 8 hours. Jobs I've worked where we are busy the whole shift? The most peaceful places strictly until the bored other departments butt in .

Reading the comments and seeing this video. There is a clear distinction between. I hear what you're saying, girlie. But you are talking about when that one co-worker runs a job like it's the navy. They take it so serious cause to them they have to capitalism number 1 star. But you fail to realize almost every worker right now has to do long hours and then go home. I've been feeling like a loser cause I work long hours, come home, only have time to sleep or eat, and then go back to work. We're all stuck in a cycle under late stage capitalism. Yes, that worker might be a dickhead, but that's because that's all they have because of late stage capitalism. What I'm trying to say is talking to other workers in the same boat as me and this comment section. We're all losers because of late stage capitalism. 😭 And I really hope noone beats themselves up because of this tiktok, you're not a loser for trying to just get your bills paid and attempt to live some kind of life when gas is about 4 dollars and milk is about 5.
