the company was sold not long ago and has absolutely suffered since. the job of the chest clip is to keep the harness correctly posistioned over the shoulder, they often break apart during accidents. discontinue use and contact the manufacturer, but as a cpst, we do not recommend many diono seats unless theyre backless boosters.
