So apparently this is called “The Wall (original German title: Die Wand), and it was released in 2012.” After nearly three years of peaceful, albeit lonely, survival, tragedy strikes out of nowhere. While taking her animals to a high summer meadow, the woman spots a strange man—the first human she has seen moving since the wall appeared. He is frantic and holds an axe. Before she can call out to him, the man hacks her young bull calf to death with the axe. Lynx, fiercely protective, runs forward barking to defend the calf. The man swings the axe and kills Lynx instantly.In a state of shock and cold rage, the woman runs back to the hut, grabs her hunting rifle, and shoots the man dead. She rolls his body over a cliffside. She never finds out who he was, where he came from, or why he killed her animals. The film ends with the woman back at the lodge. She is grieving deeply for Lynx, who was her soulmate in isolation. The white kitten, Pearl, has also since died of an illness.She has run out of paper to write her log. Her final thoughts are not of despair, but of a quiet, detached acceptance. She notes that the cow is still with her, the original cat is still alive, and she will continue to endure. The movie fades to black as she looks out over the beautiful, silent mountains, still trapped behind the wall. In summary the movie sucked.
