Me :

Netflix told me this was a good beginner anime. What is it about?

🐾ruwrr🏳️‍⚧️ :

the elevator scene might just be one of my favorite scenes in all of nge because of the way asuka completely controlled the conversation and ends up completely reflecting her emotions on to rei without even realising it the way she calls rei an "emotionless doll" is most likely stemmed from the fact she was always seen as a doll because of her mother and we see in one of her flashbacks that she says "im more than mamas doll" when she was a young child and the fact that she also talks about how she doesn't need reis sympathy is completely false because asuka relies on sympathy but also relies on people relying on her and deep down that makes her feel comfort and makes her feel seen rei and asukas dynamic is genuinely so interesting because no matter how much asuka tries to deny it and say she hates rei its ultimately because she hates herself and sees herself in rei which is why she directs all that negativity towards her
