@eli.getsbig: if the weights floor is the reason you are not going, then do not go to the weights floor. go and walk on a treadmill for fifteen minutes and drive home. that is a real start and i will defend it. week one has one job: make the drive to the gym automatic. not build muscle, not burn a specific number, just remove the friction of arriving. six visits beats one heroic workout followed by three weeks off. the treadmill is the correct first machine because nobody looks at the cardio section — it is the least observed part of any gym and you are one of thirty people doing the exact same thing. and you already know how to walk, so there is zero technique to be nervous about. week two you walk for ten minutes, do two machines, and walk for ten more. that is it. by week three the building is familiar and the 3-machine plan is not intimidating any more. incline is what makes walking hard, not speed. 3.0 mph at 8% will humble you. last slide is both weeks on one screenshot. Here is the whole 2-day plan written out, so you do not have to swipe back and forth in the gym: Week 1 — Walk 👟 Incline walk, incline walk, incline walk + stationary bike. Week 2 — + 2 machines 💪 Incline walk, chest press, lat pulldown + incline walk. Nobody looks at the cardio section. You already know how to walk. It builds the habit, not the muscle. The goal of week 1 is six visits, not six workouts. Save this so you know exactly what to do on your next session — and send it to the mate who keeps saying he'll start Monday. 🫶 week 1 or week 3 — where are you? #mensfitness #machineworkout #newtogym #gymanxiety #gymtips
