If you had pizza for dinner last night and I asked you "what did you have for dinner?" You wouldn't say Italian, you'd say Pizza. When you're deciding on what to eat for dinner and someone says "I'm craving Italian" Nobody is thinking pizza.

I went to Italy for my honeymoon 15 years ago. After a long day of walking around Rome we were exhausted and starving. Came across a little pizza place and decided to grab a couple slices. Absolutely fantastic pizza, then started talking to the guy who made it. He was from Indiana 😂

italian Americans came to America and basically went crazy because they had access to food they didnt in Italy. Alfredo was invented here, and got so popular they had to start making it in Italy. Also sicilian> neopolitin

Spent 10 days between Florence, Milan and Venice. I had one good pizza in Venice, probably because it was made for tourists, the rest were horrible. Not just not good, they were terrible.
