Ypu can also claim the digital licenses on a xbox one, that is nich cheaper than buying a series X. Even if the game is not playable on xbox one, you can still claim the digital license and then download the game to series s.

licence is tied to the game, so once the game is sold the licence transfers with it

Why would I sell my series x for a series s? For new people or people who still have an Xbox one, you can claim series licenses on it and then play them on the series s.

You can claim xbox series x games on xbox one. Cannot play them on xb1 but you can claim the digital license on xb1
