@paul.smith.monaco: The bailiffs are coming. Sounds dramatic, doesn’t it? In Monaco and France, when you hand back a rental property, the bailiff comes to do the inventory. Forks. Artwork. Pictures on the wall. Lovely little checklist. So yes, I’m handing back the keys to this villa. Not because I have to. Because I don’t want it anymore. Gorgeous place. Master bedroom bigger than my first flat. Balcony views. South of France lifestyle. But here’s the lesson. More homes does not always mean more freedom. Sometimes it just means more responsibility. More admin. More things to manage. More places you feel guilty for not using. I heard Warren Buffett say something years ago that stuck with me: If you have two homes, you own them. If you have more than two, they own you. And I think he was right. Wealth is not collecting things you do not have time to enjoy.
