On Sept. 12, 2001, crews unfurled a flag from the roof adjacent to the part of the building the plane had struck; it came down Oct. 1 and went to the Smithsonian. On Sept. 11, 2026, a flag goes up at sunrise on that same west face, beside the Memorial marking where the plane came down. #Pentagon #Remembering911 #Arlington
