ah yeah, ryanair and easy jet in the last couple of years changes their "cabin bag" rules, to squeeze every last penny out of people. you're only allowed a smaller bag for free which has to go under your seat, and then a standard cabin bag you have to pay for and that gets privileged overhead locker status. it's bullsh...

as a frequent flyer in Europe with various airlines, they all have different size requirements. there's no universal European carry on size

Yesssssss, there are 2cm smaller in each side than in any othe air line. Also last time 2 families with 3 kids travel with me each child have little suitcase-style bag the kids were only 2 or 3 years old, and the cases were tiny compared to them; they served as a spot for a stuffed animal, a snack, and where to seat. They charged the families for each of these little cases—it’s like charging a child for a toy, since that’s essentially what they were, and the kids just kept them on their laps normaly every child can have small backpack. They even tried to charge me for having a bag from the duty-free area that was supposedly too big—luckily, the other staff member was reasonable. The other one say ,,there was no way for you to just picked up books and snacks and buy so much” I was traveling to see my family and friends and had only carry-on luggage- so no other options to buy/pack snaks or books
