my history teacher made it VERY clear it wasnt a famine and taught us all about what us english did its awful

We never learnt about it either. We only ever seem to the two world wars and like Hastings battle in 1066 and I only remember that from the insurance advert. We are sorry tho. I love All Irish and Scottish and Welsh people and until tik tok I thought the whole do the UK was United (I’ve never met anyone from these counties who had anything bad to say and I’ve holidayed in all of them quite a lot.) but I am sorry for the all. I would have never wanted or pushed for any of the things that happened between all our countries. We have nothing but love for you all ❤️.

I'm pretty sure my history classes didn't even teach about it😭 (I'm English). From my memory, we never really learned about how England and the "British empire" actually affected Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. I feel bad that now Scotland, Wales, and a part of Ireland, get lumped in with the british💔 The fact Ireland's genocide is considered a "famine" when it was so much larger than that is insane

To be honest, I dont think I was taught anything of Irish/English history at school. Lots of WW1 and 2, some Russian history and Tudors. But nothing Irish, Welsh or Scottish unless it involved some king getting beheaded.
