I feel like why pheem is like that is because she grew up with people telling her that her mother was a whore while her mother used to also work like Pan which is why pheems perspective is always so negative about Pans job

More like she has always had a feeling that she needs to make up for what was lost because of her young illness self. The things has been trapping Parn all those years is herself. She has never denied the reality, she accepted it and faced it. Face the truth that she could never stop making up for what had been lost.
