My grandfather, the man who raised me, died in 1991. He used to sit outside with me and tell me about all the flowers. He was a botanist, and the best person I ever knew. To this day, even at 52, I cry when I think about him.

My grandma used to pick me up from school in the second grade. We’d have 4 o’clock tea at 5 o’clock with a piece of frozen a frozen Caramello bar. I love that you have those quiet moments where you can still connect with her.

With my Grandma it was soft boiled eggs and tea. I don't think I will ever not miss her, she's been gone since I was 8. 38 years, gone but not forgotten.
