@jordanrisa: Seen Library in Seoul 🔖 I could have never imagined that the little book swaps in the park I hosted with friends back in 2015 would result in sweet gatherings with complete strangers in other countries years later. My intention for those book swaps — to share loved books while making new friends — is the same as it is now and it was so beautiful to witness that in this most recent gathering in Seoul. Women from all over the world and from different career backgrounds came together over a shared love of books and came out of it with new friends. I learned from many of them how difficult it’s been to connect with others and find a sense of community in a new country and that our gathering gave them the space to do just that. It is truly an honor that Seen Library could play a small role in that. That’s also what I love about the books that were shared in this gathering. Books that take place in different parts of the world but capture universal feelings of womanhood, friendship, family and life. Books that remind us that we’re not alone; that we are connected to people across the world we may not know simply through similar and shared experiences.
