If you search windows on the world on YouTube there is a very sad, powerful documentary about what they experienced at the top of the north tower on that fateful day.

My friend was the pastry chef at Windows. She was sick that day and stayed home. She never returned to working in a restaurant. She still mourns her departed colleagues.

I wonder if i am the only one who always thought it was an office building not a huge part of society. I learned yesterday there was a mall.

I got engaged there in 1997. And I was supposed to have breakfast with my friend who was staying at the Marriott Hotel in 3 WTC. She survived, but she unalived herself after 2 years of struggling with drug addiction due to the trauma she endured that day. But I overslept and missed our appointment. She never recovered. Her eyes spoke of horror you can’t even imagine

*disclaimer: I was just going to recreate a recipe , but I got a little caught up in the first hand accounts. Hopefully a little more of a historical approach is okay, even though I’m just a food creator. ❤️

My grandfather was the head chef at the windows of the world in the 70s-80s, ever since the attacks it has always been a rough day.

my momma and aunty ate here in the late 2000’s about a year before 9/11. they celebrated each other with champagne and nachos! my aunt was a flight attendant for american at the time, and luckily she flew international. my aunt has since passed, and my momma recounts their champagne and nachos very, very, very fondly. ❤️

I’ve really appreciated the work so many creators have put into telling the more niche stories this year. It’s hard to learn all of it for the first time, but so important 💜
