I had this happen before where they denied me my leave the first day of PTO. I told them "you had 4 months to deny it and you didn't. Your lack of preparation is not on me. I did my part by the handbook, you did not. See you in a week"

That’s why we don’t request the day off anymore. Once you request it off, and it gets denied, calling off sick that day is noticeably deceptive. So if it’s something you really want, you’re sick and you call off suddenly. Got to play the game to win if you play at all.

I don’t understand how it takes that long to deny a request…like I be putting in requests months in advance and our schedules come out months in advance they have PLENTY of time to find coverage. And I usually ask to be put on other days of the week to make up for it
