Historically it’s a miracle that Estonia exists despite living next to russia. Same goes for Finland and Baltics. Our languages and cultures have survived all through that.

My mother in law is from Saaremaa (and a teacher) and she says that she literally can't go to town or grocery shopping without a proper outfit or hair, because she has to talk to EVERYBODY. Students, their parents, ex students and their parents.. who all work there somewhere as someone. 30 years of students and their parents... That's almost like the life celebrities have 😆

I've lived in Tallinn my whole life and I legit can't comprehend the size of larger cities. I was on the London Underground, looking at the map and thinking "Interesting how the metro goes so far out of the city." and then realizing that it is all IN the city. Also the fact that London is ~500 km² larger than Hiiumaa island.
