@guitarist.in.prime: 🎸 Lady Gaga — Paparazzi, but on electric guitar. I decided to turn one of Lady Gaga’s most iconic songs into an electric guitar cover, and honestly, Paparazzi works surprisingly well with guitar. 🎸🔥 There’s something really fun about taking a pop song that everyone recognizes and changing the way it feels by playing it on a completely different instrument. Instead of trying to completely recreate the original production, I wanted to make the guitar the main character and give the song a more live, energetic feeling. Paparazzi is one of those songs that instantly brings back a specific era of pop music. The melody is incredibly recognizable, the atmosphere is unique, and the whole track has that dramatic Lady Gaga feeling that makes it so much fun to reinterpret. I wanted this cover to keep the identity of the original song while adding my own guitar sound. Electric guitar can completely change the character of a song depending on the tone, playing style and arrangement, so I always enjoy experimenting with songs that people might not immediately expect to hear as guitar covers. If you know the original Paparazzi, you probably recognized it almost immediately. 👀 But the real question is: does Paparazzi work better as a guitar cover than you expected? I’m always looking for songs that could sound interesting on electric guitar. They don’t necessarily have to be rock or metal songs. Sometimes a pop song, hyperpop track, soundtrack or even a song from a childhood movie can become a completely different experience when you put a guitar into it. That’s one of my favorite things about making covers: taking something familiar and changing it just enough to make it feel new. I also want to experiment more with different guitar tones and styles in future videos. Some songs might sound better with a clean tone, some with a huge distorted sound, and some might work with something completely unexpected.
