You’ve only failed if you quit trying, or if you never try to begin with. Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of living an extraordinary life. I wanted to see the world, go on adventures, and experience everything I had read about in books or seen in movies. Somewhere along the way, in the midst of the wearing responsibilities of life - I lost that passion. It took something as life changing as being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder to wake myself up, and steer me back on the path I once was on. It reminded me that life is way too short to waste even a single day not actively pursuing what makes you happy. So, despite all the doubts and uncertainties that everyone in my life had, I committed to the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced, and bought a van. It’s hard to describe the feeling I had at the time - it was an overwhelming sense that I HAD to do this, and that it would be a massive mistake not to. Which meant there was no going back. So I refused to give up. I poured my heart and soul into building my new home. It was of course extremely difficult, but each failure only fueled my determination to succeed. I refused to be defined by my circumstances, choosing instead to embrace the journey with resilience and unwavering faith in myself. And then, one day, against all odds, I received my diploma from pharmacy school, packed up everything in of my apartment, and moved into my brand new home. That day was the validation of my dreams finally realized. Today, as I lay in my bed inside a home I built with my own two hands, and one I’ve now lived in for over 1,000 days, I am reminded that if you can push yourself to make that first move, anything is possible. My journey is a testament to the power of chasing your dreams relentlessly, no matter how daunting the obstacles may seem . . . #solofemaletraveler #vanlifegirls #vanlifediaries #travelgirls #shetravels #vanbuild
