Thank you for sharing. I wanted to share something with you. I'm a bit older than you so I was working and I was working only a half hour away from 911 at the time and I still remember what I was wearing that day! I was also confused. I didn't think it was real. It didn't matter what I was seeing. I thought it was a movie or something. Because it was so incredibly devastating and traumatizing that it couldn't possibly be happening, right but unfortunately, this was real! I remember being in the car trying to get to my next destination because I was working and seeing black smoke and emergency vehicles and total chaos and listening to the radio and disbelief and calling my family members to make sure everybody was OK!! September 12 came, and there was a lot of unity and camaraderie after that disastrous nightmare that I really have no words for or to describe!

I am a New Yorker and my ex husband was working in the north tower that day. My dad was down there as well. I had no idea if they were ok, thankfully they were both safe. The unity that we had after was nothing I had ever experienced before. I pray we can all come together again as all Americans and not divided as we are now. We will never forget!!!!

Beautifully said. I’ll never forget that day or moment in time. I lost a good friend to cancer post 9/11. We were both firefighters & she worked with FEMA in a medical tent at Ground Zero. Many years after she got very sick. I’ll always remember how united we all were on 9/12.

This is JUST what I told my high school daughter and her friends today. We had almost the identical conversation as what you just said. I was the same as you- senior in high school. My brother passed 5 years later so yesterday was the 20th passing anniversary and I still can’t ever find peace knowing that horrid day was also the day his journey ended so young

I was working in a deli in a small market and the only noises we heard that day were what people ordered. No chatting people walking around just numb in shock. The out pouring of kindness on September 12th 2001 was amazing. We were all united and other nations mourned for our losses they supported us. I always take a moment of silence 9/11. I will always remember that day.

On that day everyone did pull together it was a great feeling! It was under terrible circumstances & so many good people lost. The amazing people that came together from all over to help with search & rescue. Sadly in the past 25 years the kindness & unity went away 😢

I was 32 and my ex husband called and asked if I was watching tv. I wasn’t and he said turn it on. Howard Stern announced it on tv. We were in north east Ohio. I sat there stunned and scared. I wanted to get my kids from school immediately. My heart still hurts thinking of it.

I was a young man from Oklahoma didn't ever think much about Yankees. But I always do now, even married one. I miss her dearly as she's with our son now. But my eyes were glued to the TV as that happened. I think a whole country gasped a time or 2 during that. You're a good one. I'm working on it every day I promise. Thank you for being you and all that you do.

I’m older but remember that same feeling of we were all in this together regardless of differences. It was bigger than the petty differences. It showed us that it is possible we have seen it.🥰 ((((HUGS)))

I am definitely NOT saying I wish something like that would ever happen now... but I do wish that the people that were born after that happened would understand what that feeling of sadness, hope, anger, hopelessness, and so many more emotions was like. I worked at a highschool and today's kids man. not all, but most of them have absolutely no idea. I've heard them cracking jokes about it, making light of it. It makes me so damn
sad to see these kids these days be so exposed to today's horrors that they just have no empathy unless it is directly affecting them. I was 18 years old that day. It is something that will forever be on my mind.
