People commenting “I’ve worked my ass off to buy this home” are acting like others aren’t working their asses off to save to buy a house. It is an unaffordable market making it unattainable for many people to buy no matter how hard they work. That is such a self centred point. Like congrats I’ve worked my ass off too but the prices are astronomical and I hope for things to become more affordable.

We need to put laws in place that prevent corporations from buying up property before a crash happens. Or we'll just have a repeat of 2008 and corps will buy up all the cheap housing and we'll be right back where we are now.

I hear what you’re saying but i am Gen Z and finally bought (and overpaid for) a house after being outbid by anyone who bought a house before 2022 for 2 years so that timing doesn’t really work for me

If house prices crash, landlords will be queuing up to buy cheap properties. Many people will still not be able to purchase homes because landlords have deeper pockets.

I'm a homeowner and yeah I paid way too much for my house but if the value of my house halves, GOOD. It will be better for society in general, the elderly, the children, and that's good enough for me.

I’d gladly continue paying my 300k mortgage on a house which’s value has dropped to 100k if it meant my brothers can buy houses for their families too. I will never comprehend the boomer mindset of “I got mine.”
