@jarjarsclappedcheeks: Bro why 😩 The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, founded by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, is set to open in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park on September 22, 2026. Designed by architect Ma Yansong, the futuristic 300,000-square-foot building is dedicated to the power of visual storytelling. Its collection includes more than 1,300 works spanning painting, illustration, comics, photography, murals, animation, and film, with artists such as Frida Kahlo, Norman Rockwell, Banksy, and Diego Rivera represented. Although the museum will feature plenty of Star Wars material—including props, costumes, concept art, and vehicles—it is intended to be much broader than a Star Wars museum. Exhibitions explore themes such as myths, family, love, community, childhood, work, and adventure, while two theaters will screen films and a research library will support the study of storytelling. The surrounding 13-acre campus will also provide gardens and public green space, making the museum a major new cultural destination for Los Angeles.
