@hersecondbeggining: For a long time, I didn’t recognise the double standard for what it was. He could go wherever he wanted, stay out, disappear or not answer his phone — and I was expected to accept it. But if I did the same? There were questions. Suspicion. Arguments. An atmosphere waiting for me when I got home. Eventually, you can stop questioning why the rules are different. You just learn that they have freedom and you have boundaries you’re not allowed to cross.
