I had a student today come in 30 mins late for a 45 min class. Asked where she was… her story was that she was at the nurse but nurse didn’t give her a pass back to class. I called the nurse in front of the student. Surprise surprise… she was never at the nurse 😑

Something I realized, and my team also realized, as a grade 7-9 teacher, is that this year, the incoming grade 7s have wayyyyy more life skills and problem solving skills than the 9s did at that age. Maybe because they actually did grade 1 and it wasn’t cancelled from Covid, but it’s something that’s SUPER obvious this year.
