I always felt bad for Pete because everyone always insulted, mocked or made fun of him. And it’s always about his dad. Like cool it’s fun to make fun of Pete. By why is it always coming to about his dad.? I respect him and his dad.

I remember my mom’s 30th birthday, my sisters and I made a cake for her. I remember thinking 30 was so old. I’m 35 now with a 5 year old of my own and like “holy shit, 30 wasn’t old at all”. Thankfully my mom is still here. But I still understand the realization that what we thought was “old” as kids is truly still very young

it's the weirdest feeling when you become older than someone who was always older than you before they passed. my brother Caleb was always almost 3 years older than me, and he died when I was 17 and he was 20. I'm 26 now and it's still so odd every time I think about

I always think about Pete's story, and it makes me smile and cry at the same time. Pete came from an average family, with a great father who happened to be a fire fighter. He tragically died while doing his best to achieve his goal (Saving Lives). But Pete was just a child at the time, he didn't know how bright his future would be later on. But in his perspective, without his father who he may view as his hero makes him feel down. That's the sad part. Life is full of ups and downs, but the best stories have the greatest downs, and following that are the best highs. That is why I still believe in humanity Because great people may not have had great beginnings But they turned that into great endings, without even trying

I’m scared to turn 41. I thought my dad was old…I’m 39 right now-the same age my mother was when my daddy was diagnosed with cancer. It’s devastation to realize how young they were.
