@goatcult.media: On September 11, 2001, thousands of people became trapped inside the World Trade Center after the Twin Towers were struck. With smoke and fire spreading through the buildings, many victims used the time they had left to call family members, friends, coworkers and emergency dispatchers. This video includes calls involving Brooke Jackman, Melissa Hughes, Jim Gartenberg and Stephen Mulderry. Their recordings capture very different moments from that morning, but they share something deeply. people trying to reach someone they loved while facing a situation they could barely understand. More than two decades later, these recordings remain part of the history of September 11 and preserve the voices of people whose lives were taken that morning.
