just replaced the battery bro.. don't be so fussy.. those grease are there for reasons.. and so battery in the cab.

Grease on the posts is to prevent corrosion on batteries. I hate that stuff but ive never seen a corroded terminal with grease on it

you couldn't have umm used a box end wrench to get them out ? the gel isn't to keep the connections from corroding ? did you take off the positive before the negative ..

I am a Semi OTR mechanic and I have found this batterie setup on Freightliner, Kenworth and Peterbildt day cabs. I hate tacking the seat apart to get to the batteries. The terminal grease on some setups I have seen is a huge greased mess.

these are the best for rust belt trucks. every truck i touch with frame mounted batts. they're cables are always corroded to dust
