As a local Griffith park hiker. The mountains are not connected how people think. You are better off hiking from the wisdom tree. It is easier and better. But it’s too hot at the moment. Don’t do it again.

The moment you hit half your water, it’s your cue to turn around. That is a mistake a lot of ppl do when they hike in hot temperatures. Take this from somebody that lives in Phoenix and read all the time of people needing rescue

And that’s how you end up needing rescued if you don’t know how much further in the heat and no water you turn around it doesn’t matter how far you’ve come that was incredibly dangerous and your so lucky she came up and had something. Please always always take extra water on hot days

As an avid hiker in California, girl you need to bring a big a** water bottle for that hike, with ice, I hike in the heat too but not this much, especially amidst a heatwave, it’s more dangerous than good to workout during that, always listen to your gut♥️you were saved by God lol stay safe

Congratulations on your accomplishment and glad you were safe! ✨ Speaking as an LA native familiar with hiking, please better prepare yourself for future hikes. 🙏🏼 Heat stroke is no joke when hiking during peak sun hours. You need way more water than that, electrolytes and a hat would be a good option as well!

Girl you making me upset. It blows my mind on people in California still want to go hiking in this extremely hot weather. If you go at go prepared with hat. Sunscreen, and LOTS of water! Like wth people. Common sense.
