Faster ≠ best flyer . yes Rainbow is the fastest pony in equestria but Spitfire is much more skilled and experienced !! not only has spitfire been a wonderbolt for longer but she’s the CAPTAIN of the bolts. That title doesn’t just get given to any pony. It’s sad we don’t get to see more of her and the other bolts flying capabilities

canonicamente rainbow dash es muy superior a Spitfire, se demostró en la serie como rompe la barrera del sonido, genera pequeños tornados y puede realizar grandes acrobacias aéreas. en un comic se muestra como recorre todo equestria en 10 segundos. lo cual le da una velocidad de mach 5 al recorrer un país grande. su velocidad base ronda a los 1200 kmh

the reason rainbow dash didn't climb ranks as fast as spitfire is for 2 key reasons. 1. rainbow dash is a few years younger then spitfire, but even then in flying school she beat spitfire fire. 2. so why wasn't rainbow dash the captain and climb as fast? easy, rainbow dash was too egotistical and shown as solo flier, she had all skill she needed, the problem was she wasn't use to flying in the team, remember wonderbolts are like military. Just bcs spitfire was a captain doesn't mean she's better then rainbow dash when it comes to raw flying skills, she was at her spot because she was good at keeping formation and teamwork. menwhile rainbowdash had to learn that, her confidence kept her back, also one of her first flights with wonderbolts she seperated from the team and messed up the whole show. she was irresponsible and impulsive, which is why she wasn't ready. also let's not mention she had hard time learning wonderbolts history and displayed many ADHD traits they held her back. low focus(alltho while flying she kept it great), impulsivity etc. in military there was no place for that, but again she WAS younger then her wonderbolt peers. so she just needed some time to actually grow up to be ready. flying wasn't much of the reason she wasn't wonderbolt sooner.
