@thebecomingmum: 1️⃣ Disrespect being called “just a child’s behaviour.
I want my children to learn adab, even when they’re upset. 2️⃣ Using fear to teach Islam.
I want my children to know Allah as the Most Merciful, not only as the One who punishes. 3️⃣ Shaming children for making mistakes.
Mistakes should become opportunities to learn, apologise and make tawbah—not reasons to hide. 4️⃣ Comparing siblings.
Every child has their own personality, strengths and journey. They don’t need to compete for my approval. 5️⃣ Yelling being the default form of discipline.
There will be boundaries in our home, but anger doesn’t have to be the language of correction. 6️⃣ Treating culture like it’s automatically Islam.
I want my children to know the difference between what Allah has commanded and what people have simply always done. 7️⃣ Children being expected to obey adults without question.
I will teach respect, but I will also teach them boundaries, safety and the right to speak up when something isn’t right. 8️⃣ A home where children are afraid to admit they’ve messed up.
I want them to know that even after making a mistake, they can still come home and talk to Mum. 9️⃣ Being a “good Muslim family” for the sake of appearances.
I care more about what happens behind our front door than what people think happens behind it. 🔟 Making perfection the goal.
My children will make mistakes. I will too. What matters to me is that we keep learning, keep returning to Allah and keep trying. I don’t want to raise children who simply know how to look Muslim. I want to raise children who know Allah, have good character, understand their deen and feel safe enough to grow through their mistakes. Because tarbiyyah isn’t about raising perfect children.
It’s about raising children who know the way back. #fyp #motherhood #reels #parenting #muslimmum motherhood, parenting, islamic parenting, explore, fyp, motherhood, muslimmum,parenting.
