@herodotuswashere: POV: You found a Convair B-36 Peacemaker on Google Shopping… and somehow it comes with free shipping. The B-36 Peacemaker was one of the largest strategic bombers ever built and one of the defining aircraft of the early Cold War. Designed for the U.S. Air Force, it had an enormous wingspan and a very unusual powerplant arrangement: six piston engines driving pusher propellers, later supplemented by four jet engines. That setup gave rise to the famous phrase: “Six turning and four burning.” Built to carry nuclear weapons over intercontinental distances, the B-36 helped bridge the gap between the propeller-driven bombers of World War II and the jet-powered strategic bombers that followed. Of course, finding one on Google Shopping creates a few problems… Does it really qualify for free shipping? Will that wingspan fit in the neighborhood? And how exactly do you explain ten engines to the HOA?
