No seriously. Noah’s ark? David and Goliath? 1000 year lifespans? Moses parting the sea? The bible is a cool piece of ancient literature with some good lessons and stories, but there’s no freaking way all of this stuff was meant to be taken literally.

Its a coping mechanism and that's how a lot of people who don't grow up in it turn to religion.

It’s a coping mechanism, they need that order and fake rules in their life to distract them from wrongs they’ve done or wrongs they’re afraid of doing

the fact that scholars, archeology etc have found evidence of humans worshipping between 8,000-12,000 "gods" is enough for me to determine religion is made up by humankind!!

it makes some people feel comfortable... God is looking after them.... if things don't work out it was God's plan.... it let's them avoid responsibility for failures.

He saved my life, I was destroying my life in drug addiction and he came to me one night and I felt his presence. The feeling is nearly indescribable. Imagine goosebumps but it’s so much more than that you can physically feel the presence of God and I was overwhelmed with joy

I always say this. Like why are we going to die and go to heaven, just to live again/keep living. Then why do we even bother dying?
