I like the way jing boran decided to chose a role outside the ‘ideal role’ an actor should have in the Chinese Entertainment. It shows how truly open he can be! And the fact he even publicly admits that he has a girlfriend is another green flag I like about him.

flawed/toxic male leads characters for female dominated drama audience has always been the prototype in romance drama but flawed female lead characters always gets hated I remember First frost Yifan character was so criticised 😅😭 in recent years in cdramaland, I think Lui Yifei character in Tale of Rose & especially Xu yan in Love Ambition are the most flawed female characters but still able to get love and sympathy by the audience

I really don’t like Luke but I love Jing Boran’s portrayal of him. He truly portrays the humanity of him. My qualm with this drama is how it romanticises a toxic relationship rather than portraying it as a harsh reality. But yeah Jing Boran is a phenomenal actor
