On the twentieth anniversary of the founding of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, we proudly remember the pivotal role played by the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz – may he rest in peace – in establishing this university in 2006, making it a leading academic institution and a nurturing haven for the ambitions of the nation’s daughters. In 2011, King Abdullah – may he rest in peace – also sponsored the inauguration of the university’s new campus, which spans eight million square meters and was built at a total cost exceeding twenty billion riyals. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, reflecting the strong support of the leadership for the advancement of higher education in the Kingdom. Today, as we celebrate the 95th National Day of the Kingdom, we affirm that Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, founded by the gracious order of King Abdullah – may he rest in peace – has grown to become one of the largest women’s universities in the world, carrying the mission of education, knowledge, and innovation for future generations.
