This video took a lot out of me as it wasn’t planned or scripted and I have no idea if this video will even make it to the algorithm or if I even articulated my point effectively… all I know is that I am so tired of the never ending moral superiority Olympics and yall using REAL SUFFERING as some sort of “gotcha” moment… it’s shortsighted and it actively harms the movement when people feel like the best thing for them to do is to remain silent… also the clarify the Ed Sheeran point because I feel like this might be brought up, I am NOT defending him or his silence… it’s good that he was called out for that… but we should also think about why he even felt like that was the best course of action for himself (and why many other mega celebrities do the same thing)… the only way we can combat ignorance is through meeting people where they are and working together to enact change… do not let ANYONE make you feel like your voice doesn’t have power and that things are too far gone.
