NOBODY TALKS ABOUT HOW LONELY BEING SINGLE CAN FEEL. People see a single man and assume he’s enjoying life. They say, “You’re lucky. No relationship stress. No arguments. Do whatever you want.” And sometimes, yes, there’s freedom in being single. But nobody talks about the nights when that freedom starts feeling like loneliness. You come home after a long day and there’s nobody waiting to ask how your day went. Nobody to send that random message to. Nobody to tell about the funny thing that happened at work. Nobody to hold when the day has been especially difficult. You can have friends. You can have family. You can have hundreds of people following you online. And somehow, you can still feel completely alone. That’s the strange thing about loneliness. It’s not always about having nobody around. Sometimes it’s about not having the person you wish was around. Sometimes you don’t miss being in a relationship. You miss having your person. Someone who knows your moods. Someone who notices when you’re unusually quiet. Someone who can hear your voice and immediately know something isn’t right. Someone you can sit beside without saying a word and still feel understood. And yes, I’m a man. I have feelings too. I get lonely too. I want someone to love. I want someone to come home to. I want someone whose name makes me smile when it appears on my phone. I want to build something genuine with someone—not something based on games, jealousy, pretending, or using each other. I’m not looking for someone to rescue me from loneliness. I’m looking for someone I can share life with. Someone who doesn’t need me to be perfect before she can love me. Someone who understands that sometimes a man doesn’t need advice. Sometimes he just needs a hug and to hear: “I’m here. You don’t have to carry everything alone.” Maybe you’re single and lonely too. Maybe you’re scrolling through this right now wondering whether you’ll ever find someone who truly understands you. Don’t give up on love just because you haven’t found it yet. Being alone today doesn’t mean you’ll be alone forever. Sometimes life takes longer than we expect to bring two people together. And until then, keep becoming someone you’re proud to be.
