Absolutely. ❤️And remembering 9/11 should also mean remembering how Canada and the United States stood beside each other when it mattered most. After the attacks, Canada opened its airports, communities and homes to thousands of stranded Americans. Canadian and American officials worked side by side to manage the crisis, and the partnership between our two countries was strengthened in the aftermath. That’s what makes today so heartbreaking. A relationship built on friendship, trust, family and standing together in times of crisis feels so different now. On a day when we remember how much our countries once stood together, it’s incredibly sad to see how strained the Canada–U.S. relationship has become under Trump. 9/11 should remind us of what neighbours and allies are supposed to do: stand together, not tear each other apart.

I remember very well… I was watching as it happened from my back porch, my little boys were in school watching it on tv, my husband was on a train trying to get home from work. I remember the curfews and lockdown afterwards and the daily 💣 threats at my children’s schools, so no I didn’t forget.
