I'd seen this place YEARS before I ever stayed here. 😂 Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia is the real-life location used as Kellerman's Mountain House in Dirty Dancing. You can walk around and recognize filming locations like Baby's cabin, the gazebo and other spots from the movie—and then actually spend the night here. But here's what surprised me: Dirty Dancing isn't the only reason I'd come back. The lodge sits on a 2,600-acre nature preserve with more than 20 miles of trails, recreation, dining and a whole lot more to do than I expected. And I'm seeing rooms starting around $120/night on some September dates, depending on the room and your dates.
