We’re teaching kids how to pass test and learning things they will never need or use in life.. but not teaching how to handle life. And parents are left filling in the gaps. Most schools still focus on: 📚 Memorization 📚 Standardized testing 📚 Content they may never use again But what’s missing are the skills kids and teens actually need to thrive: 👉 Emotional regulation 👉 Communication + social skills 👉 Financial literacy 👉 Decision-making 👉 Coping with stress, failure, and pressure So we end up with teens who can: ✔️ Get good grades …but also struggle with: ❌ Anxiety ❌ Low confidence ❌ Real-world problem solving ❌ Relationships This isn’t about blaming schools… it’s about recognizing the gap. Because the truth is— 👉 schools teach academics 👉 parents teach life And in today’s world, those life skills matter more than ever. As a therapist and mom, this is what I see every day: Kids don’t just need to be smart… they need to be emotionally strong, confident, and capable.
